Meet Our Band

The Crumlin Community Youth Band is a vibrant, community‑based marching and concert band located in the heart of Crumlin, Dublin 12 in Ireland. Rooted in a strong tradition of local music-making, the band is dedicated to providing affordable, accessible, and enjoyable music education for young people and families within the community.

Based in Dublin 12, the band brings together people of all ages and backgrounds to learn, play, and perform music in a supportive and welcoming environment. From the very beginning, the focus has been on inclusion, removing barriers to participation by providing instruments, tuition, and opportunities to perform — all within a fun and social setting.

Our Story

We are a registered charity with the charities regulator number 20026578 and revenue.

Crumlin Community Band was created with a simple but powerful idea — to make music accessible to everyone in the local community.

Crumlin Community Band was formed in 1990 by Mr. Ernie Long (R.I.P), who believed the people of Crumlin and surrounding areas should have access to learning and enjoying music no matter your age. Over the years, the band have welcomed many members through its doors, and our fabulous instructors have helped members learn to read and play music to a very wide audience.

Over time, the band has grown into a vibrant and valued part of the community. Members join as complete beginners, return to music after years away, or simply come along to be part of something positive and creative.
